Sky [E]Scapes by Tanya Hayes Lee

Tanya has been an artist since she was 5 years old—and probably well before then. An abiding love of structure, form and meaning led in other directions as well – to a writing career, a stint as a graphic designer and nearly 20 years as a journalist, but at the heart of it all was a compulsion to order the world – to create the world – in a way that she could understand.

The Sky [E]Scapes exhibit at Drinkwater’s — a selection of impressionist paintings, most of them explorations of how to translate ephemeral, ever changing atmospheric vagaries into solid paint on a two-dimensional surface. We take away from them a sense of wonder, and of peace, an escape from the demands and cacophony of everyday life in an urban center.

Her work was on display at Drinkwater’s on October 26 through November 9th 2019.
