Drinkwater's Recognized as a New York Times Styles Reader Favorite!

We're thrilled to share that Drinkwater's has been recognized by The New York Times Styles as one of its Reader Favorites, one of just 25 clothing stores selected from reader nominations across the country.

This recognition means so much to us, not just because it's from The New York Times, but because it was the readers sharing the stores they felt deserved to be recognized. That Drinkwater's was one of those shops, and ultimately selected as a Reader Favorite, is incredibly gratifying.

For us, it's a reflection of the relationships we've built over the last 22 years.

When we opened Drinkwater's on August 13, 2004, we did not set out to be the biggest store or carry the most brands. We just wanted to create the kind of menswear shop we'd want to visit: welcoming, thoughtfully curated, and built around great service.

We've stayed intentionally small, choosing brands that share our appreciation for craftsmanship, quality, and thoughtful design. Whether it's made-to-measure clothing, Japanese workwear, or heritage casualwear, every piece is selected because it fits our point of view and works alongside the rest of the collection.

One of the things we've always enjoyed most is helping customers discover combinations they might not have considered before. That's what merchandising has always meant to us, not simply displaying products, but creating a collection that feels cohesive, personal, and inspiring.

At a time when so much retail has moved online, the vast majority of our business still happens face to face. The best part of what we do has never been just selling clothing. It's getting to know people, helping them find something that's right for them, and seeing them come back over the years. Today, we're fortunate to serve not only longtime customers, but also their children and, in some cases, even their grandchildren.

We think that's what makes independent shops so special. They offer something that's hard to replicate anywhere else. It's the experience of discovering something unexpected, having a conversation with someone who genuinely knows and cares about what they're selling, and leaving with something that feels uniquely your own.

To our customers, thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and for supporting us over the years. Whether you've been shopping with us since 2004 or just recently discovered the store, you've helped make Drinkwater's what it is today.
