Gary's new hat: vintage Panama

John Hardy was a remarkable man, a World War II Navy veteran, a graduate of both Harvard and Boston University, a lifelong history professor and our very good friend. Before passing away in 2013, he gave Gary a bamboo tube, not much bigger than a cigar holder containing a parasisal hat body in its original condition—it had been rolled and stored for we guess approximately 80 years.

Artist Opening Reception: Paper Cuts by Candice Oyer

Candice Oyer has developed her own techniques including building low-relief paper sculptures and weaving together paper strips of images like the warp and weft of fabric. Candice is a Somerville resident and Vernon Street Studios artist and designer. In her world,  dreams, memories and life experiences shape a visual language. She builds her low-relief, three-dimensional interpretation of these experiences through simplified shapes and color using hand-cut paper, hand-woven paper and painting.

Henderson Shirt featured in RubyHornet (RH) Blog

Drinkwater’s in Cambridge, MA is one of the top menswear boutiques in the area. Run by Gary Drinkwater, the store is in its fifth year and has recently debuted an in-house line of shirts. Says Gary about the Henderson shirt, “the space that our store is located is the Henderson Carriage Building, where carriages, sleighs and barges were once built. I thought it only fitting to celebrate the craft and the work wear aesthetic for this product launch.”

George Guest Backpacks Featured in Boston Magazine

Then a sophomore at Lehigh University, the Wayland native borrowed a neighbor’s sewing machine, learned how to use it, and cranked out a prototype for his canvas and leather “Hillside” pack.
